It's All About Having Fun

A headshot or portrait session can be a daunting prospect for some. My aim is to get to know you & put you at ease as quickly as possible so we can capture you at your very best. During your session, you will learn techniques that you can take away & use to look relaxed & natural in front of the camera, all of the time!

Fun is the key. If we're having a great time, it will show in your images. A photo session should be an experience, not a chore! My style of direction incorporates fun & humour to get the best reaction possible & bring out your personality.

The Shoot

We'll start with a quick chat about you & your career etc. to give me a brief idea of who you are & what you need from your session. I like to get into shooting as soon as possible to get the very best out of your time & mine & we'll keep going until we get 'the shot'. That said, we will have short breaks to review images so we can see exactly what we're doing right (& wrong) & adjust accordingly. I shoot tethered (connected to a computer) so the images pop up on the screen as they're taken. At the end of the session, we'll look at the best images so you can decide which ones you would like to buy.

Your Styling

Feel free to bring a variety of clothing for different looks (as long as you love it!). We recommend you keep jewelry small & simple as this can often be distracting in photos, but again, if you love it, wear it.

Hair & make up should be done before you arrive. There is a separate room with a mirror where you can change outfits & make alterations to your look. Please bring any equipment you need for this with you.

For male corporate clients a shirt, tie & jacket is preferable. For women, a dress or  blouse & jacket is an option.

If you are unsure if something will work or not, bring it anyway (you never know). 

When you have decided on the images you would like to purchase, I will perform some basic 'clean up' edits if needed.

Any alterations to the subject can be done at your request. These may include removal of temporary blemishes or 'fly away' hair. Facial features will not be altered.

Retouching is included in the session price.
